FPS booster for BGMI and PUBG Mobile: what actually works
Short answer: most apps marketed as “FPS boosters” only close background apps, which helps a little. The three things that genuinely change your frame rate are unlocking the frame-rate tier your game hides, lowering the graphics tier, and managing heat. An app can help with the first two. Nothing can make a 60 Hz screen show 120 FPS.
Why most “boosters” disappoint
Search the Play Store for a game booster and you'll find hundreds of apps promising a faster, smoother game. The large majority do one thing: close background apps and clear RAM.
That isn't useless. If you've got fifteen apps holding memory, clearing them stops Android evicting your game's assets, which is what causes that stutter when you turn a corner into a new area. But it's a small effect, and it isn't what people mean when they say their frame rate is too low.
It also doesn't touch the actual reason most players are stuck at 60 FPS - which isn't memory at all.
The real reason your frame rate is capped
BGMI and PUBG Mobile don't measure your phone to decide what frame rate to offer. They check your model against an internal allow-list. If your device isn't on it, the higher options simply never appear in the graphics menu.
So you can own a phone with a 120 Hz display and a chipset with headroom to spare, and still be locked to 60 FPS - because of a list, not a limitation.
No amount of RAM clearing changes that. What changes it is writing the configuration value the game reads at startup, which is what a GFX tool does.
The three things that actually raise your frame rate
1. Unlock the frame-rate tier the game is hiding
This is the big one, and it's the only one that turns 60 into 90 or 120 outright. In-game the tiers run Power Saving → Medium → High → Ultra → Extreme → Extreme+ → Ultra Extreme, and Ultra Extreme is the 120 FPS setting. On most devices it has to be unlocked before it appears.
2. Drop the graphics tier
Graphics quality and frame rate compete for the same performance budget. Ultra HDR is the most expensive setting in the menu and the least useful in a firefight - it can actively hide players in deeper shadows. Moving to Smooth frees up a lot of headroom and makes enemies easier to pick out.
What each graphics tier costs you.
3. Keep the phone cool
If your first ten minutes are fine and it degrades after that, no booster app will fix it - that's thermal throttling, and the chipset is deliberately slowing down to protect itself. Take the case off, don't play while charging, and don't chase a frame rate your phone can't sustain.
Clearing RAM is a distant fourth. Worth doing before you queue, but if you're expecting it to take you from 60 to 90 FPS, it won't.
What no FPS booster can do
- Show 120 FPS on a 60 Hz screen. The panel physically cannot present more images than its refresh rate. Check yours before anything else.
- Raise your chipset's ceiling. Unlocking 120 gives you a ceiling of 120, not a guarantee of it.
- Lower your ping. Rubber-banding and shots that don't register are network problems, and nothing on your phone shortens the distance to the server. Tell the two apart here.
- Add RAM or cooling. Software can only manage what's there.
Any app claiming guaranteed 120 FPS on any device is overselling.
How to tell a useful tool from a repackaged one
- It's on Google Play, not an APK mirror. Repackaging popular boosters with adware is common, and you're granting these apps elevated permissions.
- It doesn't need root. Modern tools use Shizuku, which works on a stock phone. Root voids warranties and breaks banking apps.
- It tells you your refresh rate. A tool that reads and shows your panel's actual capability is being honest with you; one that promises 120 FPS to everyone isn't.
- It's been updated recently. Game patches reset these unlocks, so a tool last touched a year ago probably doesn't work with the current version.

Where 90 FPS + 120 FPS fits
The app this site publishes does all three of the things above rather than just the RAM part:
- Unlocks the hidden frame-rate tiers - 90, 120 and on some devices 165 FPS - using Shizuku, so no root.
- Applies graphics profiles in one tap, so you get a sensible pairing of graphics tier and frame rate instead of guessing.
- Shows live RAM, CPU, storage and ping in its Booster tab, and frees memory and optimises the connection from there.
- Reads your panel's refresh rate on the home screen, so you know up front whether 120 FPS is even available to you.
It's free with ads, has been on Google Play since 2021, and covers Global, Korean, Indian and Taiwan game builds. It won't manufacture performance your phone doesn't have - nothing will - but it removes the software lock that's holding most people at 60.

Unlock the frame rate, don't just clear RAM
90 FPS + 120 FPS reads your device, unlocks the frame-rate tiers your game hides, and gives you graphics profiles and a booster in the same app. Free on Google Play.

Frequently asked questions
Do FPS booster apps actually work?
It depends what the app does. Ones that only clear RAM produce a small effect. Ones that unlock the frame-rate tier your game hides can take you from 60 to 90 or 120 FPS on a supported device, which is a genuine, visible change.
What is the best FPS booster for BGMI?
Judge by criteria rather than rankings: distributed through Google Play rather than an APK mirror, no root required, honest about your display's refresh rate, and updated recently enough to work with the current game version.
Can an FPS booster give me 120 FPS on any phone?
No. You need a 120 Hz display, and a chipset that can sustain the frames. A booster removes software locks; it cannot change hardware.
Will an FPS booster reduce my ping?
Not the distance component - nothing on your phone can. Network optimisation can prioritise the game's traffic on your own device, which helps when something else is competing for bandwidth, but it won't move you closer to the server.
Is it safe to use an FPS booster?
The main risk in this category is the source. Apps from Google Play pass malware scanning and can be uninstalled normally; repackaged builds on APK mirrors are a documented adware vector. Since these tools take elevated permissions, install from the store.
Does clearing RAM improve FPS?
A little, and mostly it reduces stutter rather than raising the average frame rate. It helps most when memory pressure is causing the game to reload assets as you move between areas.
